Winter Barmitsvah Tour 13 day Itinerary Dec 2007

 

Day 1

Sunday

 Overnight Jerusalem

 

Arrival and transfer to your hotel. Preparation for Barmitzvah

 

Day 2

Monday

Overnight Hotel on the shores of the Dead

 

Barmizvah ceremony at Massada. Tour Massada. Take a short camel safari in the Judean Desert, experience a meal in a tent similar to one used by Father Abraham. Visit Qumran.  Afternoon swim in Dead Sea. Enjoy the facilities for special Dead Sea massages and beauty treatments

 

Day 3

Tuesday

Overnight Eilat

 

Drive down the Arava Valley to Eilat, Stop to see the spectacular Solomon's Pillars, the most ancient copper mines in the world and to enjoy a sumptuous Beduin meal on the shores of a lake in the middle of this Desert environment.

 

Day 4

Wednesday

 Overnight Eiltat

 

Visit Coral world to see the coral reefs of the Red Sea, take a boat ride on the Red Sea with opportunities for water sports and snorkeling in the Red Sea.

 

Day 5

Thursday

Overnight Jerusalem

 

Return to Jerusalem via the Ramon Crater, go for a hike in one of the spectacular canyons of the Negev Desert, visit Ben Gurion's house at Sdeh Boker in the middle of the Negev Desert. Drive through Beer Sheba, Israel's modern University City in the Desert.

 

Day 6

Friday

Overnight Jerusalem

 

Walk through the Jewish quarter of the Old City, with special emphasis on the archaeological discoveries, like the ancient synagogue of Rabbi Johanan ben Zakkai and the wall of the city from the time of Hezekiah. Continue to the Western Wall for a visit to the Western Wall tunnels. In the afternoon visit the market place of the new city. Return to the Western Wall for a special Welcoming of the Sabbath.

 

Day 7

Saturday

Overnight Jerusalem

 

Synagogue tour off the new city. Vsit the Israel Museum.

 

Day 8

Sunday

Overnight Jerusalem

 

Visit Yad Vashem, the memorial to the six million Jews who died in the holocaust, visit the Knesset, Israel's parliament. Visit Hadassah hospital to see the Chagall windows. Drive to the western outskirts of Jerusalem to see the scroll of fire and to visit the Stalactite Cave.

 

 

Day 9

Monday

Overnight Kibbutz Guest House in the Galillee

 

Drive through the Jordan Valley to Bet Shean to visit this reconstructed important Jewish and Roman town. Continue to the Golan Heights to visit a reconstructed village from Talmudic times. View the Syrian city of Quneitra for an in depth understanding of Israel's northern border. Take a Jeep safari on the Golan Heights.

 

Day 10

Tuesday

Overnight Kibbutz Guest House in the Galillee

 

Drive through the Huleh Valley to the Dan Nature Reserve for a walk in this beautiful nature park along the Dan River, one of the sources of the Jordan River. Ascend the Mts. of Naftali by cable car for a view of the beautiful valley below. Continue to Safed, the city of Jewish Mysticism. Visit the artists quarter and the synagogues of the great rabbis who lived here. Return to the Kibbutz Guest house on the shores of the Sea of Galillee

 

Day 11

Wednesday

Overnight Tel Aviv

 

Drive through the Lower Galillee to visit Tsipori, the city of the mosaics. Continue to Acre, the ancient Crusader City. Drive along the magnificent panorama road on the top of Mt. Carmel to view the City of Haifa and the beautiful Bahai gardens. Drive down the coastal road to Caesarea. Continue to Tel Aviv for overnight.

 

Day 12

Thursday

Overnight Tel Aviv

 

Visit Tel Aviv: Palmach Museum. Diaspora Museum, Land of Israel Museum, Old Jaffa, Flea Market, the Yemenite quarter, Bialik's house, the house of Rubin the artist, Gutman Mosaic of Tel Aviv early years.

 

Day 13

Friday

 

Transfer to the airport and departure.
